II provide legal services for individual clients, with a focus on a few areas where I can offer practical support and strong advocacy.
My focus areas of practice for individual clients include:
Employment and Human Rights
I advise and represent individuals in employment and human rights matters, including where work ends unexpectedly, workplace conditions become unworkable, or discrimination or accommodation issues arise.
Wills, Estates, and Estate Litigation
I provide legal services in wills and estates matters, with a particular focus on estate litigation, alongside estate planning and estate administration. For Indigenous clients, this can also include work attentive to the interaction of federal and provincial regimes, including complexities that can arise in relation to reserve lands, non-member family members, and blended families.
Civil Dispute Resolution and Litigation
I help clients resolve civil disputes through effective advocacy—working toward just settlement where possible, and supporting clients through litigation where needed. I stay attentive to both negotiation strategy and litigation leverage throughout, grounded in clients’ objectives and interests.
Examples of civil disputes I may assist with include:
- Communications related.
- Contracts and commercial.
- Property.
- Personal injury.
- Estates.
Limited scope retainers
In some situations, I may be able to assist throughlimited scope retainers, including discrete tasks such as drafting or reviewing documents, advising on strategy, or supporting a client in preparing for specific steps in a process.
Referrals
Where I cannot assist, I have a strong referral network through my involvement with the Victoria Bar Association, the Canadian Bar Association, and the broader legal community, and I will do my best to provide you with a good referral.
