Agreements and Organizational Relationships

Agreements are one of the main ways organizations can shape their relationships with others. They can clarify responsibilities, create accountability, support collaboration, and help relationships succeed over time. I help clients review, negotiate, and draft agreements and related instruments in ways that fit the relationship and the context. This includes contracts, memoranda of understanding, letters of intent, and other constructive arrangements, as well as advice about how to avoid unintended verbal agreements and other misunderstandings. In addition to review, negotiation, and drafting of agreements, my work in this area may include advice on risk allocation and management; dispute prevention and resolution; clear accountability mechanisms; and creating agreement structures that support collaboration and accord over time.
